What we collect
When you use the Website Health Check or otherwise contact us, we may collect your name, email address, business name, website URL, the type of help you are looking for and the information you include in your enquiry. Our hosting and security systems may also process technical request information such as IP address, browser or device information and timestamps.
Why we use it
We use enquiry information to review the website or problem you have asked us about, respond to you, decide whether PressRefit is a suitable supplier, prepare proposals where requested, keep basic records of business enquiries and protect the website from abuse.
Our main lawful bases are our legitimate interests in operating and developing PressRefit and responding to genuine business enquiries, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract where that applies. If we later introduce optional marketing that relies on consent, we will ask separately.
Website Health Check submissions
Valid Health Check submissions are stored in the private WordPress administration area so they are not lost if an email notification fails. The website also attempts to send a notification to the site administrator. A short-lived technical rate-limit may be used to reduce automated form abuse.
Who may process the information
We use service providers for web hosting, email delivery, website administration, security and technical operations. They may process personal information only as needed to provide those services. We do not sell personal information.
International services
The website currently loads typography through Google Fonts. When your browser requests those files, technical information such as your IP address may be processed by Google. Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we expect the relevant provider arrangements to provide them.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information only for as long as it is reasonably useful for handling the enquiry, related follow-up, establishing or defending legal claims, and maintaining appropriate business records. If an enquiry becomes a client relationship, information may be retained for longer where needed for the contract, accounting or legal obligations. We periodically review records that are no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to processing, and receive certain information in a portable format. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your information is handled.
Your right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object to our use of your personal information. We will consider the objection and stop processing where the law requires us to do so.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information. No website or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not send passwords, WordPress credentials or other sensitive access information through the Health Check form.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when the website, services or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest published version.
